The Monkman-Crumpton Award was created to memorialize and honor the integrity and loyal support of two NATE founding members and former NATE presidents – Bob Crumpton of Gulf Coast Trade Exchange in Pensacola, Florida and Gary Monkman of Midwest Trade Exchange in Waukegan, Illinois. The award was first bestowed in 1996 to Bob Crumpton as The Gary Monkman Memorial Award, recognizing Gary Monkman’s numerous accomplishments as a NATE visionary. Upon Bob Crumpton’s death, the award was renamed The Monkman-Crumpton Award in honor of two of NATE’s most prominent leaders. Annually, NATE bestows this prestigious honor upon an individual who exemplifies the same energy and tireless dedication to NATE as the award’s namesakes. The Monkman-Crumpton Memorial FundEach year, NATE Members around the world donate generously to this foundation. NATE Members have the opportunity to donate a portion of their annual $495 renewal/membership fee ($10, $20 or $50) to The Monkman-Crumpton Memorial Fund. Their generous gifts to this fund have been dedicated to the support of a wide range of educational programs within the barter industry — including college scholarship programs and improvement seminars offered at the annual NATE Conventions. |
